Privacy Policy for Debugify
Last Updated: October 10, 2026
TL;DR: Debugify runs entirely on your local machine. We do not track you, we do not have analytics, and we do not collect, sell, or transfer your browsing data, website content, or personal information to any servers.
1. Information We Collect (And What We Don't)
Debugify is designed with a privacy-first architecture. Because our tools operate natively within your browser, we do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to our servers.
- Website Content & DOM: All inspections, color extractions, and code modifications happen locally on your device. Nothing is sent to the cloud.
- Screenshots: Screenshots are processed entirely locally. If you choose to save them to your Library, they are stored securely in your browser's local IndexedDB.
- Analytics & Tracking: We do not use Google Analytics or any other telemetry tools. We have no way of knowing how you use the extension.
2. Why We Request Certain Permissions
To provide advanced developer tools, Debugify requires specific Chrome permissions. Here is how they are used strictly locally:
- Web History & Browsing Data: We request this so that our "Debug" tool can allow you to clear a site's cookies, cache, and history with one click. We never read, store, or transmit your browsing history.
- Tabs & Scripting: Required to inject our inspection tools into the current tab and capture screenshots of the visible area.
3. Third-Party Services & APIs
While Debugify has no backend servers of its own, certain features optionally interact with third-party services directly from your browser:
- Licensing (Polar): If you use Debugify Pro, your license key and an anonymous device identifier are securely sent to our payment provider, Polar (polar.sh), once a day to verify your subscription status. No other data is shared.
- Site Stack & Network Lookups: If you use our Tech Stack and SEO tools, the extension may query public APIs (like dns.google or crt.sh) to fetch server information. You can disable these lookups at any time in Settings > Privacy.
4. Data Sharing and Sales
We comply fully with the Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies. We certify that:
- We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties.
- We do not use or transfer user data for purposes that are unrelated to Debugify's core functionality.
- We do not use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
5. Changes to This Policy
If we update this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Because we do not collect email addresses, we encourage users to review this page periodically.
6. Contact Us
